July through August 2023
In July and August, our vendors remediated contaminated soils. Soils that exceed health risk standards were safely removed and taken to an appropriate landfill. Soils with lower contamination levels were managed in accordance to a plan approved by both the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Minnesota Department of Agriculture. This process was monitored closely by an environmental engineer.
August through December 2023
We anticipate soil remediation will be complete by the end of October. Mass grading on remediated soils will continue until the ground freezes. Water will be applied to soils throughout remediation and grading to minimize dust particles in the air.
2024
We expect to start roadwork construction in the Spring of 2024 and complete mass grading during the first half of 2024. Click to learn more about soil conditions and discussions around air quality and water quality throughout construction.
