DUST CONTROL AND DUST MONITORING
To maintain safe air quality at The Heights during soil cleanup and mass grading, we will have dust controls and monitoring in place. Dust controls will consist of spraying water on excavated soils as needed and managing the excavated materials in covered stockpiles.
We will use water for dust suppression, monitoring throughout to curtail runoff. The dust monitoring plan, approved by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), mandates the use of specialized equipment for checking dust levels in multiple locations, including the downwind perimeter of the site. Additionally, we will collect air samples for laboratory analysis.
Special measures will be in place to prevent dust from leaving the site. Factors to be considered include wind speeds and direction, dust observations, as well as dust monitoring results. We will halt or alter earthwork if needed to control dust and protect air quality at The Heights.
