We offer medical transportation services through HealthEast Medical Transportation, a leader in emergency medical services (EMS) and scheduled medical transportation for over 130 years. The Twin Cities trusts us for wheelchair transport as well as and basic, advanced and critical care life support transportation.
We handle more than 40,000 calls annually. Our state-of-the-art communications center is the first point of entry for all emergency and non-emergency calls. When seconds count, dispatchers quickly determine the closest available EMS unit. Using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, ambulances are tracked by location.
Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most experienced paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in the region, helping to make us a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service.
This is a full time position. You will provides in-home ALS/BLS assessment and care as determined appropriate by a Physician and within the scope of the Paramedic license.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Examines, advocates, screens, treats and coordinates health services for patients as determined based on assessment, evaluation and consultation with Physician
Conducts post-hospital discharge follow-up including but not limited to, monitoring medication, dressing changes and checking vital signs.
Observes, records and reports patient condition, reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents to patient provider.
Conducts patient education and assists with chronic disease management. This could include but is not limited to, diabetes prevention/treatment, hypertension, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), falls assessment, injury evaluation, geriatric frailty visits, mental health and nutrition.
Assists with the coordination of appointment and necessary follow-up with physician and hospitals.
Develops and accurately completes appropriate reports and templates for the Community Paramedic program.
Administers patient care consistent with department and program protocols/guidelines and physician orders.
Effective management of projects, deadlines, and work load prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functional whole.
Public Speaking: Presents ideas, information and materials to individuals and groups. Prepares and provides structured delivery; commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation.
Ability to organize and express information and ideas in written form to individuals as well as groups. Construct messages that are clear and convincing.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2 years Paramedic experience required
- Valid Drivers license and DMV record that meet the HealthEast insurability requirements
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull and carry and minimum of 150 pounds
- ACLS
- BLS
- Paramedic license national and state of MN
